Online accounts increasingly hold valuable personal, financial, and operational information. A password is an important first line of defense, but passwords can be reused, exposed through phishing, or compromised in a data breach.

Finterion supports two-factor authentication (2FA) to add another layer of protection to your account. We strongly recommend enabling it.

What two-factor authentication adds

With 2FA enabled, signing in requires both:

  1. Your email address and password.
  2. A temporary verification code from your authenticator app.

Someone who obtains your password still cannot sign in without access to your second factor.

How to enable 2FA

Open your account security settings and start the two-factor authentication setup. Finterion will display a QR code that you can scan with a compatible authenticator app.

After scanning the code:

  1. Enter the current six-digit code from your authenticator app.
  2. Save the recovery codes shown after verification.
  3. Store those recovery codes somewhere secure and separate from your password.

The setup is complete only after Finterion verifies the first authenticator code.

Keep your recovery codes safe

Recovery codes provide access when your authenticator app or device is unavailable. Each code can be used only once.

Do not store recovery codes in the same place as your password. A password manager, encrypted vault, or securely stored printed copy can help prevent a lost device from becoming a lost account.

What changes after setup

After you enable 2FA, Finterion asks for an authenticator code when you sign in. The same protection also applies to sensitive account-recovery flows. If your authenticator is unavailable, you can use one of your saved recovery codes.

You can manage or disable 2FA from your account security settings. Disabling it requires your current password and a valid authenticator code.

A safer account starts today

Security works best when it is enabled before an incident occurs. Take a few minutes to activate two-factor authentication and protect your strategies, organizations, and account data.
